This person is a fraud. He buys artist work when it is cheap and studies it. Then when the artist has good sales or gets popular, he post the artist work on Ebay next to the knock-offs he has made. This is nothing new, but this person does it to living artist who are just trying to get by selling their work on Ebay. This person has many new I.D.s on Ebay and Youtube. If you try and confront him he will cry like a baby get on Youtube and harass you.

He will contact galleries you are in if he sees you mention them on the net.He will act like he is someone else and harass everyone you mention. He will also befriend your friends on the net and try and turn everyone against you. He has been doing this to the artist Steven Chandler ever since he bought his work and did this in 2006. Chalmers has even contacted his child on the net saying horrible things about her Dad. He does not stop even when confronted over the phone.This person is extremely sick. This person,Richard Chalmers, is an internet stalker. Knowing that this person could be working inside someones home sends chills down my spine. Richard Chalmers also owns some kind of farm art gallery. He steals artist work online and makes knock-offs to sell in his gallery. When these artist catch him and try and stop him, he harasses them endlessly online through various sites like Youtube. He has even tried to harass these artist family members and business relationships.Richard Chalmers is a sick person. I would not let him anywhere near my home, he has severe mental problems.Please believe me here, so many people have tried to post information about this creep and he gets it removed. I would not take the time to sign up here and post this if it was not true. I have better things to do with my time, but when I found out he has a business that involves going into peoples homes, I had to act.Please BEWARE of Richard Chalmers!

He looks like a bully in that photo and yes very creepy, what is he doing in the photo anyway? Did he take that photo of himself? Is he digging a hole to stuff a dead body in. I wouldn't let this guy anywhere near my home and to think he stalks people on the internet after buying their art on Ebay, God that's so scary. No place is safe. ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, his is one reason too many artist, good artist are afraid to show their work at all. A person like this is not just bad for the art world, he is bad for our younger generations looking for artistic inspiration from their elders, this person just shows them the ugly side of it all.
Bravo to the artist/artists that has stood up to him.
I just found a Richard Chalmers painting. It looked like something a little school girl would do in the third grade. No wonder he is trying so hard to copy GOOD artist, he has no talent and the work shows. I would be embarrassed if I was him. Glad I found this blog,it makes sense for sure.
ReplyDeleteI saw a painting(if you want to call it that) by this Chalmers guy, I swear to God, it was supposed to be a farm pig , but it looked like a giant penis, it was actually quite hilarious. After looking at a few of his pictures online, I did notice he does like to put a penis on his animals. I can understand wanting to be anatomically correct, but then you look at the rest of the figure and it is way way off, thus making me wonder why is it so important for Mr. Chalmer's to have the penis on his animals? I would love to hear him explain this. I would venture to guess that he has some sort of odd Oedipal complex towards is animals and/or the artist he is harassing.

We also have noticed that he likes to be anatomically correct in that area of the animal, he puts penis's on pretty much all his animals, but the rest of it not so much, spindly legs, square bodies, but that penis is always there. We agree, perhaps Mr. Chalmers does have some sort of Oedipal complex when it comes to his animals and artist he is trying to steal from? Can you send a link to the Penis Pig painting? Just PM it don't post the link here. There is a private blog of "other paintings" Chalmers has made. They are very pornographic, kinky farm paintings but also really comical. We're not sure if he set it up or what, but we can send you a link to it. Last time we looked there was no "Penis Pig" painting on it. Chalmers seems to be too embarrassed to show these paintings. DeleteLike a few other people I came over here after seeing a gallery had posted this on Facebook. I cannot believe this. I got to Steven after buying his art. He is a straight up guy, very talented, I've been to his house and met his family, just great folks. He's never mentioned this Chalmers person before, although I have heard that he was the victim of plagiarism. I just can't imagine what it must feel like to have to defend yourself and your art after finding it being stolen. Whoever set up this page-BRAVO. If it was the artist Steven, the victim that did it, how could anyone blame you? More artist should fight these creeps. I might just have to blog about it, what a disgrace you are Richard Chalmers. How could anyone seriously applaud you. And one more note for Steven, this guy Chalmers is obviously trying to take from you, but his work if you want to call it that is childish, corny and just not any good at all.Anyone with any taste can see this. He is nowhere even close to your level.
